Level Measurement in Water and Waste Water Lift Stations

Condensation, build up, obstructions and silt can cause difficulties in making reliable level measurements in lift station wet wells. New trends in low cost radar units solve these problems.

There are a number of ways to measure the water level in lift station wet wells. Selecting the technology able to provide the most reliable level measurement with the least maintenance should be the goal.

While traditional technologies, such as submersible hydrostatic and ultrasonic instruments, can provide a reliable measurement, the new lower-cost radar transmitters now available in the market should be considered for these applications.
